Production Reflection 4

What duties did you perform this week in your job role
This week I worked on the graphics that I have chosen for my music show and made the, branded the names them on Powerpoint. I also worked on the ending credits for my music show. I made them with my own chosen animations and transitions on Powerpoint slides. On live day I was working behind the graphics of the live show. I was controlling the opening sequence, name sequence and ending credits.

What has been successful this week
What I find that has been successful this week would be designing the ending credits for the live show. Another thing that has been successful this week would learning how to set the graphics on screen at the correct moment.

What could you have changed or developed and why
If I could change anything I would change the way I worked in the recording studio on live day. Because of me zoning while on working behind the graphics and sometimes missing the chances on when to set the graphics up on screen I ended up getting a pass. Yes I am not proud of me zoning out and not getting a merit but in the end I just learn't to deal with it I mean (sigh) If I pass then I pass and if I fail then I fail. Another thing that I would try to develop is my grade because I was trying to get a merit when really I ended up getting a pass. Yes they may say pass is good but to me a pass is still losing. The only reason why I messed up the final time (for the real thing) was because the director cut screen the to early and I wasn't able to set two of my graphics in time.

How did you work with you team this week. Was your work effective
Working with my team and the director (Chloe) was once again another effective success because she gave out simple and straight forward instructions that my team in the recording studio were were able to understand. Another reason why it was effective was because I manged to get the timing correctly after I learn't how to set the graphics on screen right because if I didn't get it right then I would of either needed more practice or failed my course work.

How would you judge your performance on live day. Explain your answer with examples from your day
I would give my performance from live day a 5 out of 10 because I didn't think did very well due to my performance and me zoning out and setting the graphics on screen at the wrong time for example. However I learn't how to get it for for the live show (live recording) because after going through about...maybe four or five rehearsals and being focused on the screen at all times I learn't how to set the graphics on screen at the perfect time for the live show.

Final Script-Grapics

Production meeting Reflection 3

What duties have you performed this week in your job role.
This week I made and finished off the opening sequence on Powerpoint for my music show. I also had to add in images, animations and transitions to make it stand out more. Then afterwards I had to explain, in a paragraph the meaning behind the colour, typography, images, layout and the meaning why made the tile logo like this.

What has been successful this week
What I find that has been successful this week would be finishing of the opening sequence for my music show on Powerpoint and then uploading it from One drive to blogger. Another thing that has been successful would be the filming of me being recorded for presenting out the parts of my script for the history of hip-hop.

What do you need to change or develop and why
One of the things I needed to change was the music notes on my logo because, before they were in black and I wasn't surpost to use blue or black. I also had to add some changes to my opening sequence in Powerpoint because the opening had the backgrounds on each slide but it didn't have any images of any celebrities/artists for it.

What do you intend to do next week
What I intend to do next week is to work on the graphics that I have chosen for the show. I am also going to be working on the ending credits because they said it needs credits for the outro of the show for next week.

What did you intend to do with your team this week was it effective
What I found that was effective was working with the director because when I was working on the opening sequence I understood what type of images she wanted me to add to the Powerpoint. Another thing that has been successful this week was working with Kori, Keway and Jack for the recording of my History of Hip-Hop script because, although it took a few minutes to get the one of the parts of my script right we managed to get the filming done in the end.

Script for History of Hip Hop

Hi my name is Omar, I am from London and I'm going to be talking about the history of hip-hop.

Late 80s
The song 'I'm bad' by ll cool j is a classic hip-hop video from the late 1980s. I find this video unique because I like the way it was made and I like the parts when ll cool j starts dancing in the video. Another reason why I like the video is because I like the part when LL and his crew of friends team up against the gang that has kidnapped his girlfriend in the beginning of the video.

Early 90s
The song 'The crossover' by EPMD is a classic hip-hop video from the early 1990s. I find this music video inspiring because I like the way the song sounds and how unique Eric sermons voice is while rapping. The reason why I like Eric sermons voice is because no other rap artist can copy it. I also like the way the video cuts to the audio waves and then cuts back to a different scene in the video.

Late 90s
The song 'The message' by Nas is another classic hip-hop video but from the late 1990s. I find the video interesting because it shows how it represents the ghetto life and how some people struggling in rough neighborhoods and projects in Brooklyn. The reason why I like the song is because it shows how Nas can tell a stories not just about his life but how he got to where he is today through his songs and how you can visualize it in your head while listening.

Early 2000s
The song 'The way I am' by Eminem is one of the hip-hop classic song but from the early 2000s. I find this video interesting because it shows how he expresses anger though his songs. Another reason why I find the video inspiring is because it shows the difference between himself and his alter ego Slim shady while in his music video and his songs.

Late 2000s
The song 'Stronger' by Kanye west is another one classics but from the late 2000s. The reason why I find this video inspiring is because I like the way the music video made and set in tokyo and how it was made in a futuristic type of theme. Another reason why I like the video is because I like the way Kanye was dressed in the video because it shows that he has his own unique style of fashion for example his sun shaped glasses.

2010s
The song 'Airplanes' by B.o.B is another classic hip-hop video but from the early 2010s. The reason why I like this song is because it shows where b.o.b was at the time and when getting introduced to the music scene. Another reason why I like this song is because it named the video of the year in 2010 and it also has a part 2 version feating Eminem saying what his life would be like if they never became rappers.

Opening Sequence

This is the opening sequence we are going use for our music programme. The reason why I chose this is because it's the way I imaged it. I used these backgrounds because I visualized the hand in the shape of a fist but in space then as it zooming it forms into an open hand and reveals the logo of the show. The reason why I chose these certain images of these celebrities is because I thought it would go well with the opening sequence and with the content of the show. I was unsure with the idea at first but after I tried it I got used to it. After I found the right images I added in some animation techniques to make them stand out more during the intro. The reason why I chose the animations is because I thought it would be good idea because I didn't want the intro to look boring and I wanted it to look entertaining.

Ident

This is the Ident that I created for the music programme 'Feel the Music'. I created and finished this logo in fireworks the same way the presenter pitched it. Before I created this in fireworks, I did a drawing of it on paper. I then scanned it to the computer and edited it in fireworks. Afterwards, I showed it to Mr Phillipson, he liked it but he told me that I couldn't use black so I decided to use gold music notes and a gold out line for the hand. I then showed it to Chloe (the director) and she said that she wanted a red background to go with the colour theme of the show. The reason why I wanted to keep the idea of the music notes in the logo is so that it is easily recognizable that it is a music show. The hand shows actions to the title and the colour gold makes it stand out. I picked this typography because I felt like it fits in well with the logo, it is not too harsh and looks welcoming.
